Other than conducting research on soils, microbes, and gases, I am also passionate about science communication. I feel strongly that it is my duty as a scientist to communicate my findings not only in the vacuum of peer-reviewed journal articles and conferences, but also to interested citizens, students, policy-makers, other stakeholders. I also enjoy speaking to school groups and working to inspire young scientists (e.g., Skype a Scientist, Letters to a Pre-Scientist). Feel free to get in touch if you would like to work together in the future.
Above is my 2015 entry for the Dance Your Ph.D. competition, which is sponsored by Science/AAAS.
